Hey everyone, I've been scratching my head trying to understand the chemical makeup of wood. Could someone break down the chemical structure of cellulose, hemicellulose or lignin for me? It feels like I'm lost in a forest of molecules here and could use a little guidance.

I totally feel ya, cellulose is like a chain of glucose bros, hemicellulose's a mixed crew, and lignin's the wild, messy glue, it's a whole molecular jungle out there

You'll wanna start with cellulose, since it's the main player, or should we dive into lignin first and tackle the wild one head-on?
 
@Kingsley41 got it but could you clarify what you mean by no chemical elements though?

@FourKings love the analogy. Cellulose as the OG glucose chain gang, hemicellulose as the chaotic sidekick crew, and lignin as the wild, messy glue holding it all together. This molecular jungle is straight up next level stuff, bruh.

@Iam2much starting with cellulose sounds like a solid flex since it's the MVP of the operation. But diving into lignin first feels like trying to 1-shot a boss fight. Might as well grind some levels before we take that on! 😅
