I'm finishing up my last semester in chemical engineering, and reality is starting to hit hard. Back when I started this degree, I imagined companies would be lining up the second I got my diploma. Fast forward to today, and it's more like me chasing them and half the entry level listings want two years of experience I don't have. I've done a couple of internships, worked in the lab at school, even helped a professor with a small research project, but still feeling like I'm tossing applications into a black hole most days. Is this just how it goes for everyone at first, or am I missing something big here?
