I'm into drug manufacturing and fermentation processes, working with four magnetic level gauges on a storage tank, with a total measurement area of about 4500 mm. Is there a specification on how much should these gauges overlap to make sure we get the right readings?

@di5tillnation Usually you want at least a small overlap, like around 50-100 mm, just so there's no blind spot between gauges. The exact number can depend on your tank layout though. The idea is just making sure the readings transition smoothly.
