You'd wanna add it after the meter, so the chemical treatment's measured accurately, before the meter could mess with your billing, you know? Keep it legit

For both practical and regulatory reasons, like what everyone said, install your chemical injection pot after the water meter. That way, you're only treating the water that's already been measured for your building's use
