Transmix gasoil and essence on pipeline

I am seeking feedback on the operational management of petrol-diesel transmix in pipelines. My challenge is to reduce the volume of the mixture recovered in the tank to avoid large-scale downgrading or the need to send it back for re-distillation.
Given the non-linear drop in the flash point of diesel as soon as the first traces of petrol are present, what are your best practices for:
Defining the physical cut-off points to minimise the volume sent to the slop tank without contaminating the main batch?
The actual effectiveness of kerosene buffer batches in segregating the interface?
The maximum blending ratios you have been able to validate (via Pensky-Martens tests) when reinjecting these contaminants into compliant diesel?

Welcome to the forum! Transmix management is definitely a tricky operational headache, especially with how sensitively those flash points react. Sounds like you're dealing with some real constraints on the pipeline side that most people don't think about until they hit the problem themselves. What specific throughput volumes are you typically working with on your line?
